Sweet Dreams ~ New Make it Perfect Pattern

Lucky me, again I had the chance to test sew for Toni at Make it Perfect, this time for cute pajama pants and a cosmetics purse. Another totally sweet pattern and fast to make too.

Check out Toni's blog for great pics and a chance to win the pattern!

Tutorial ~ Click to Carry Bag

The Tutorial for the Click to Carry bag is now up at Quilt Fabric Delights and ready to download

I've had the idea for a kids bag for ages. The tricky bit about it is that it has a strap that is adjustable and opens and closes with a side release buckle. This enables the strap to be shortened, so it can hang off the back of the car seat for long trips, then be converted to a messenger style bag, or clipped onto a pram or shopping trolley for safety.

Easy to adapt to a small adult bag too, or change the strap if you don't need the opening function. Or if you would like one, just like this, Sarah has a kit here, and Nikki has the slide adjuster and side release buckles here.

Long weekend in cold Ballarat ..

I've been looking forward to this long weekend for ages. House maintenance is something we struggle at. Getting time, making decisions and keeping a range of children out of the way of the project are all difficult.

We did it. The top split level section of our house is painted! We bought our house nearly 13 years ago and the doors have had undercoat since then but we did paint over the original pink shade as soon as we had the contracts signed. It had become so scruffy that I couldn't find a clear spot to take a pic against .. hard work for a blogger!

Matt worked really hard and it's done. I worked really hard keeping kids busy for three days. We did a photo shoot for a tutorial in the cold. Just look at Maya's pink nose! We painted objects at the plaster fun house, bikes have been riden and two kids have learnt how to knit. The playstation had a bit of a work out too, as did the oven.

What craft did I get up too? I'll show you soon!

How new shoes saved me from boredom...

On Friday I was travelling by train to Melbourne for work, a 2 and a half hour trip return. I had some communter knitting with me.

The minute I dragged my knitting out of my bag, the bamboo knitting needle snapped at the base. But because I wore new shoes to Melbourne I had packed bandaids too, and just like MacGyver I pulled them out and joined the break with two strips of bandaids. Ahha!

There has been a bit of sewing done too. Keep your eye on Quilt Fabric Delights for a tutorial soon.

Crikey! It's Chris

A few months ago, I had the chance to do some pattern testing for Clare. She checked that it was okay to make something that was 40cm long? Yep, and here he is.

This is Clare's new pattern, with a giveaway on now. Kane just loves him and our version is called Crikey.
So off to visit Clare for your chance to win. Such a fun pattern too!
