Seashore Sundress ~ Oliver + S

This dress is a real winner for Maya.  Like many Oliver + S patterns it takes me awhile to both fall in love with them, and then get around to making them.  With this one it was the button closures on the front which I didn't feel suited a larger child so well but it the end the cute red buttons have given it a pop.  Seeing a few older girls wearing this dress on Flickr too encouraged me.

The dress has been worn 3 times this week including a party and Santa photo's.  Matt also suggested that Maya wore it to a farmers market today too,  so even he must like it.

There are almost hidden pockets in the front of the dress which is softly gathered at the sides, a dropped waist and princess seams.  Maya is wearing a size 7 which is a good fit on her in a quilting cotton which I think is a Riley Blake print from a couple of years ago. The Seashore Sundress is also rated just one scissors and isn't a difficult sew.
